Elman Isakov

Elman was born in Baku, Azerbaijan (former Soviet Union) and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1998. His involvement in Jewish community was sparked after his Birthright trip to Israel in 2006. He later became an active member of Hillel at Baruch College where he had the opportunity to participate in Jewish programs such as Germany Close-Up and Mehalev Project.

After graduating college, Elman was selected for the Israeli Government Fellows, a leadership program endorsed by the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel. During his year in Israel, Elman worked for the Israeli Ministry of Defense, met leading figures in Israeli political and public life, and studied Judaism and Jewish history. After his first Limmud FSU experience in 2010, he became a Limmud volunteer and a year later he joined the organizing committee.

Elman graduated from Baruch College with a BBA degree in Finance and Investments and works for a global Technology and Management Consulting firm. During his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his son, playing soccer, dancing salsa, and hiking.

I do Limmud because it provides me an amazing opportunity to expand my knowledge, meet intelligent and ambitious individuals, and connect with my Jewish community.
