Maya Balakirsky Katz is Professor of Art History at Touro College. She has written on the intersection of religious identity and media. She is author of the book The Visual Culture of Chabad (Cambridge University Press, 2010) and Drawing the Iron Curtain: Jews and the Golden Age of Soviet Animation (Rutgers University Press, 2016).
