Peter G. Weintraub Rabbi, Middle East Expert, spiritual leader
Peter G. Weintraub is a businessman, spiritual and community leader, all three of which highlighting his dedication to the State of Israel. Peter’s career began at Westchester Reform Temple, one of the largest congregations in Westchester County, NY, and until today he is an instructor at UAHC's Outreach Program. In the early 1990s, Peter founded Bristol Associates, a textile company with $100 million in annual sales, with offices in the U.S.and Asia. Through his business, Peter has also focused on supporting Israel, including the establishment of a factory in Sderot, a semi-war zone in southern Israel. Peter's involvement with Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) for over a decade exemplifies his deep connection and love for Israel. During his involvement, Peter has sponsored more than 70 four-year scholarships for ex-combat soldiers, unable to afford higher education. A committed lay leader, Peter has been on the National Board since 2011, and in 2015 was elected FIDF National President. Peter holds a BA with highest honors in Psychology from City College of New York, and a Master of Hebrew Letters and Rabbinic Ordination from Hebrew Union College. Peter is married with five children, has twelve grandchildren, and currently lives in Scarsdale.
