Trained as a clinician and social scientist at NYU, Dr. Misha Galperin had an extensive private practice in psychotherapy and psychological testing with English and Russian speaking clients before establishing a network of clinics and services for refugees and emigres throughout New York and designing and overseeing an innovative resettlement system for emigres as Chief of Professional Services at NYANA during the late 80's and early 90's. He went on to become COO of the UJA-Federation of New York, CEO of The Educational Alliance, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and CEO of Jewish Agency International Development. Author of two books -- The Case for Jewish Peoplehood and Reimagining Leadership for Jewish Organizations, he now runs a philanthropic advisory service company (www.ZANDAFI.com) named after his four children: Anna, David, Ezra, and Sofia and kept in proper financial shape by his brilliant and beautiful wife Alisa who herself gave up Russian Literature studies to become an equity research analyst.
