Martin Yafe was born in Cordoba, Argentina, and currently serves as Planning Executive for the Jewish Life Department at UJA-Federation of NY, responsible for some of UJA’s Israel portfolios, as well as the “Global Jewish Communities” portfolio which focuses on UJA's funding overseas.
Additionally, Martin serves as a consultant and lead educator for o the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of NY, having developed the "Leading on Campus" program for high school students to be better prepared to respond to anti-Israel and anti-Semitic situations once they go to collage.
Martin studied International Relations at Di Tella University in Buenos Aires and completed his M.A. in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security with honors at IDC-Herzliya in Israel.
Martin has always been active in Jewish communities around the world, working in leadership positions in various areas from a young age, including Director of Youth Education in large JCCS in Argentina and Australia, where he also worked for Sydney's Jewish community umbrella organization - Jewish Board of Deputies - on projects related to education and Israel affairs.
While living in Buenos Aires Martin spent almost 10 years working for the office of security and prevention of the Jewish community. After specializing in security affairs, Martin began lecturing on the topics of politics and security in Israel and the Middle East in Israel and now in the US.
Martin is happily married to Yelena and they both live in Astoria, Queens.
