Bella Zelkin, MSW, Director of Émigré Services at JCCA, is an experienced and accomplished professional with extensive practice in the non-profit sector. Bella has emigrated from the Soviet Union with her family in 1979. Bella’s participation in the World Jewish Congress in Jerusalem in 1991, where she went as one of the founding members of the Russian Division of UJA-Federation, has changed her life. She left her successful career in business to get involved in the Jewish community not only on volunteer and donor level but professionally. Helping immigrants to integrate into American life and building community has been her passion for the past 23 years. Now, Bella is a Director of Émigré Services for JCCA working with the Bukharian Jewish community. Bella holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Minsk Music College. She received her Master’s degree in social work from Yeshiva University. Among many awards Bella received, there are two from UJA-Federation of New York for her Leadership and devotion to the Jewish community and from the Council Member Karen Koslowitz for many years of outstanding dedication to the community and the people of the New York City.
