Yigal Kotler Jewish educator and historian is a doctoral candidate at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, Davidson School of Jewish Education.

Yigal is a graduate of Mandel Jerusalem Fellows, a two-year Israel based program for leaders in Jewish education.
Yigal, a native of Odessa, Ukraine, became actively involved in the reawakening of Jewish life as the founder and director of the first Jewish school in Odessa after 70 years of Communism. Since than he worked with a number of prominent Jewish organizations in the FSU, Israel and the U.S., such as: the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Hillel, Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and others. Currently, he works as a Director of Russian-speaking outreach for the Global Day of Jewish Learning, the rapidly growing international project of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. He is also a consultant at the Museum of American Jewish History
Yigal is an acclaimed lecturer and presenter in a variety of community and educational institutions and the author of the book "Essays on the History of Odessa Jews". His main academic interests include Jewish education, identity studies, and the history of Russian Jewry.
Yigal was a founding co-chairman of Limmud FSU USA, the annual conference for Russian Jewish Americans.
