Elena Ulanovsky was born in Perm, Russia, in the Former Soviet Union. She lived in Lugansk, Ukraine, USSR until 1990, Haifa, Israel from 1990 to 2009, and Boston, MA, USA since 2009.
Elena earned a Bachelor degree in the former Soviet Union, and has taken courses in documentary and film production at MassArt Boston and the New York Film Academy.
Publications include "Tell my Fortune ," "Price of Love" (the first and the second books in the trilogy "Women's Novel") in the journal "Charm" in Israel in 2003 and 2006. "Apocalypse" (the last book of the trilogy) was published in the "New Review" New York 2014, and "Palms fro m the Asphalt" (journal version) in the "New Review" in 2016.
Elena is the writer and producer of the following films: "Russian is a hard language" (2009, shown on Israeli TV), "From Russia with Math" (USA, 2013), and "The New Protocols of the Elders of Zion"(Israel, 2015). These films were screened in film festivals in New York, Israel and Moscow.
Her plays and scripts include "Travel Agency", "Nemesis", " Boston Bombers", "Museum of Russian Icons, or Long Way Home". "Hebrew for Two" is currently in the final stages of production in Israel and Boston.
Elena is a co-founder of the production company Weekend Movie Productions, LLC (www.weekendmovieproductions.com)
She writes in Russian, but also works with English-speaking authors in the writing of television series.
