Yelena Tregerman

Yelena Tregerman

Originally from Samara, Russia, Yelena Tregerman immigrated with her family to New York in the late 90's. As a teen and young adult, she participated in Jewish programs focusing on arts, leadership, and community building, that took her across the country and globe helping develop Jewish communities worldwide. It wasn't until 2012, when she experienced her first Limmud as a volunteer that she realized the importance of helping grow the FSU Jewish community right here in New York City. Yelena is currently completing her undergraduate degree at the College of Staten Island in Political Science and Fine Arts, while working as an administrative assistant in a local Jewish community center.

I do Limmud because there is a palpable magic in the air when people are connecting over their shared culture and history, and I take pride in helping facilitate that atmosphere. There is nothing more motivational than witnessing friendships and professional relationships develop based on a common interest in our Jewish heritage.
